How do I find a quantitative/qualitative research article?

Answer

There usually isn't an option to narrow down to just quantitative or just qualitative research articles, but many databases do have subject headings for methodologies.

Quantitative data is used when the author(s) of the article is trying to measuring their research in numbers. The data can be counted or compared on a numeric scale. To find these, you can search keywords like quantitative, experiment, data, statistic, or variable, in addition to the keywords you're using for your topic.

Qualitative data is used when the author(s) of the article is trying to describe the qualities or characteristics of their research topic. This data is presented in narrative form. To find these, you can search keywords like qualitative, content analysis, case study, interview, narrative, or observation, in addition to the keywords you're using for your topic.
